If you have small kids, as I do, you are constantly on the lookout for new games. Recently, I created a new game for any number of players. It is very simple. Here is how you play.
- Each player secretly choose a number from one to 10.
- One person says, "1, 2, 3 go!" and everyone shows their number on their fingers.
- The person with the lowest number - that does not tie with anyone else - wins.
Sounds simple, right? It isn't. Let's say we have 4 players: D, P, S and J. At the instant of display here is what people show:
- D - 1 finger
- P - 1 finger
- S - 3 fingers
- J - 2 fingers
J wins because J has the lowest number without a tie. My son suggested an interesting variant: you are not allowed to show the same number of fingers 2 times in a row. My mother-in-law suggested another variant: you cannot show the same number during a "set" of 10.
Now, here is the key question: what should this game be called?
I look forward to your suggestions.
